Limestone Coast

Après une Great Ocean Road renversante, on finie la frontière du Victoria par Portland, une ville sans grand intérêt voire moche. On y fait tout de même une balade vers la côte pour voir une Shelley Beach très jolie et un point de vue nommé Bridgewater avec des roches à l’aspect lunaire.

On continue notre route et on passe la frontière avec l’Australie du Sud, en croisant une cinquantaine de kangourous morts au passage. Premier arrêt Mont Gambier et son fameux lac Bleu, seule attraction de la ville. Ce lac est connu pour changer de couleur au fil des saisons, en été il est bleu turquoise et en hiver il devient bleu nuit voir gris (donc moche). Pas de bol pour nous on était plus en été depuis 3 jours du coup y’ avait plus beaucoup de turquoise, c’est vrai que c’était impressionnant mais bon trop touristique.

Mont Gambier et son "Blue Lake"

On décide d’aller plus loin pour dormir à la frontière du Coorong National Park. On fait escale à Beachport (couleur de l’eau spectaculaire), à Robe, ville touristique sans grand intêret et enfin à Kingston SE pour dormir mais surtout voir Larry the Lobster, un homard géant de 10 mètres. Grande fierté des australiens, un peu partout en Australie vous pouvez trouver différentes statues géantes comme une mangue, un koala ou une banane, ils appellent ça les « big things », c’est kitchissime à souhait et ils adorent vous les montrer.
